Functions can also take arguments, which are values that tell the function what calculations to perform. For example, the SUM function takes one argument—the range of cells that you want to add together—but there are other functions that take multiple arguments. The IF function, for instance, takes three arguments: a logical test, a value if the logical test is TRUE, and a value if the logical test is FALSE.
